Natural sustainability.

We source the raw material for our Fredeburg slate veneer from our own quarries. The natural rock is extracted after millions of years of maturing and then carefully and sustainably processed. We only use materials that meet our high standards of quality and sustainability.

Preservation of resources

As a result of the special manufacturing process of the thin slate veneer, only a fraction of the valuable raw material is required per square metre compared to conventional slate. Further processing also takes place in our own resource-saving, ultra-modern, fully automatic production facility.

Outstanding environmental balance

Fredeburger Schiefer^® is produced locally with short transport routes and low energy consumption. Furthermore, slate has an impressive long service life and compared to other building materials, achieves an excellent CO₂ balance with the comparatively lowest emission values.
