MAGOG® Solar Premium
Roof-integrated photovoltaics for a smooth roof appearance
A solar solution that blends seamlessly into the roof whilst generating electricity. For new builds and roof refurbishment.
Roof-integrated
photovoltaics combine aesthetics and performance
If a solar installation detracts from the aesthetics, sustainability becomes a design issue
A traditional roof-mounted system can visibly alter the appearance of a roof. In this way, photovoltaics quickly become a deliberate design choice in sophisticated architecture. With MAGOG® Solar Premium, we offer a logical evolution of integrated roof PV, which harmoniously combines technology and aesthetics.
Roof-integrated photovoltaic systems
are particularly suitable here
Roof refurbishment
When the roof is being refurbished, MAGOG® Solar Premium can be incorporated into the plans from the outset and integrated into the new roof surface – creating a well-thought-out combination of architecture and energy generation.
New build
In new-build projects, our advanced in-roof photovoltaic system can be incorporated into the building envelope right from the start, blending seamlessly into the overall design both technically and aesthetically.
Minimalist architecture
Where the architecture is elegant and the lines are clean, it is worth considering integrating a solar panel system. It makes the roof look smoother, whilst still generating clean electricity.
Historical context
Integrated photovoltaic systems offer advantages on historical buildings: they have less impact on the building’s appearance, are installed as a hard roofing system in accordance with the ZVDH’s (Central Association of the German Roofing Trade) technical rules and guidelines, provide protection through integrated equipotential bonding, and often require a lower load-bearing capacity.
Magog®Solar Premium:
Integrated rather than elevated photovoltaic systems
MAGOG® Solar Premium is a photovoltaic solution that is designed to blend into the roof surface rather than being an additional structure. This ensures that the appearance remains smooth and architecturally clean, whilst power generation and the roof’s function are planned together from the outset. For our customers, this means: a harmonious overall appearance without any additional installation height, and a system that integrates seamlessly into the building envelope – naturally offering added energy-saving benefits.

The benefits of a
roof-integrated solar solution
A harmonious appearance and a focus on architecture
MAGOG® Solar Premium integrates photovoltaic panels into the roof surface rather than mounting them visibly on top. This ensures that the design remains harmonious and true to the architectural concept.
Planning certainty through clear system logic
MAGOG® Solar Premium is designed in such a way that details and interfaces can be planned in a transparent manner right from the start. This ensures reliable processes from planning to installation.
High quality and durable construction
The high-quality materials are designed to last for many years. The result is a robust and high-performance roof system.
Efficient use of roof space
The roof surface becomes an active source of energy, combining on-site electricity generation with a flush, harmonious integration into the roof.
Solar PV systems:
Integrated vs. elevated
With a ground-mounted PV system, the roof covering remains entirely intact: tiles, slate or standing seam roofing are not replaced. Instead, roof hooks or clamps are used, which are threaded through the roofing material. Rails are then fitted to them. The modules are then clamped onto the rails and the cables are routed along the top or bottom of the modules.
With an integrated solution, on the other hand, the photovoltaic system is installed as an integral part of the roof cladding: the PV system replaces the traditional roofing material across the entire surface, which is why installation begins earlier in the roof construction process and therefore follows the logic of roofing installation more closely. Instead of installing rails on the finished roof surface, system components and PV modules are integrated into the roof surface; connections and junctions (eaves, valley, ridge, hips) are finished neatly and with a watertight seal, and cable routes are factored into the design from the outset.
Frequently asked questions about MAGOG® Solar Premium
and roof-integrated photovoltaics
An integrated solution is particularly suitable for new builds and roof refurbishments, as it is planned as part of the roof surface right from the start. It is particularly suitable in situations where the visual appearance needs to remain smooth, such as in cases of minimalist architecture, sensitive or historical buildings.
It is crucial that the roof structure is planned jointly at an early stage so that connections, penetrations and drainage are properly resolved. Furthermore, the roof structure, insulation and waterproofing should be coordinated in such a way that the integrated photovoltaic system is permanently watertight and technically integrated into the new roof surface.
Roof-mounted PV systems are installed on top of the existing roof covering, usually using hooks and rails, which creates an additional layer and makes the system visible. An integrated solution replaces traditional roofing across the entire surface; it is installed as a roof cladding, thereby creating a much more uniform appearance without adding to the overall height of the structure.
During normal operation, a regular visual inspection is sufficient to detect dirt, leaves or any damage at an early stage. From a technical point of view, it is also advisable to check the electrical components and output figures from time to time, so that any deviations are spotted quickly.
